A Video Cooking Course available on Skillshare. Learn to Make a Thanksgiving holiday Feast

Video Course: Full American Holiday (Thanksgiving) Feast

In Autumn, we Americans celebrate one of our favorite holidays and it’s all about food, family, friendship, and giving thanks.

Thanksgiving isn’t a religious holiday, it is more of a national tradition and celebration of our heritage. It was made a public holiday by President Lincoln, but the tradition goes all the way back to the very first colonists who landed on the shores of Plymouth Rock.

They had arrived at a time where survival was uncertain. They needed help in overcoming the winter upon which they landed and finding food and shelter. It was one of the native tribes of the area who had allied themselves with the new settlers in mutual defense and the following year, the new settlers had found their feet and begun building their settlement. With their first harvest, they invited their allies to celebrate with a massive dinner feast.

I myself am a foreigner living in Poland, and I have made a life for myself here. Many of my friends, and my new family have helped me to make this my new home. That is why I carried my Thanksgiving tradition with me here. And that is why I have celebrated every single year I have lived in Poland (this is year 14) by cooking a feast and inviting my friends to share in it.

With this class, I now share this same tradition with you.
